HELP! my 15" Tigrinis is gonna DIE!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
There is a disease called whirlling disease or something. Look into it, that maybe it. One of the members here asked about it before, he tried to figure out if it was treatable. Turned out it wasnt and he lost his fish.

i had a fish that was exactly like that my 8" oscar couldnt swim correctly and had no visible injury on him..

It go to the point where i coudnt do anything about it even with medication.. so had to freeze him...:( If i knew sooner that theres medication for bladder infection.. that would be nice...

I would try that before u put him down.. always sad to see fish with bladder problems..

what is the tigs main food

if its prawn/shrimp then that could be the problem as they seam to have problems digesting it they are normally fine eatting prawn but long term like when the get to 10-12 inch they do this and die

i have lost a few tigs the same way but since i have been feeding pellets i have had no losses

can you show a close up picture of the part of the fish head just before the dorsal fin

Were our tigs solely on prawn when they died, or was it just part of their diet? I feed my catfish market prawn everyday, but also feed a variety of pellets including hikari massivore, cichlid gold, food sticks and algae wafers.

his diet is a combo or shrimp and smelt.

Try the Epsom salt method from the link I pmed you! It sounds like better method than meds, IMO. G/L!

you are feeding other stuff and not just prawn its the salt foods they seam to have problems with

pellets are the best food for tigs below about 14 inch at that size they seam to be able to digest other foods better

i have had 2 tigs do this spinning thing they would even eat more prawn when spinning

pumping small tigs with lots of food when small is not a good thing i know you think you are doing a good thing when you see the big fat belly but its not good for tigs

you wouldnt pump a 2 year old child full of big macs and think you are doing good

if the tig looks slim and slendour most of the time chances are it will live a long happy life in your tank
