I built my stand a few weeks ago, and sat the tank un it for the first time today, and the base of the tank is not supported very well.
In fact, the entire back of the tank is only suppurted in one corner, the rest of it is floating off the stand about 1/16 th inch.
What can i do to fix it?:(

get a level and a square and find out where its not true at...

Get a sheet of styrofoam 1/4 to 3/8 inch thick and place it between the tank and the stand. The styrofoam will fill the gaps and cushion the tank.

Also, have you tried shims under the corners of the stand?

I have to go along with rebuilding the stand at this point. That's a lot of weight to be fooling around with.

:screwy: You guys want him to rebuild for a 1/16th of an inch:confused:

I would add some styrofoam between the stand and the tank. Since you built this yourself, it would be a good idea to setup somewhere and test fill. Set it up so you can visually inspect the entire stand. Fill with 50g and inspect, fill another 50g and reinspect, and so on. Wood can do odd things when put under stress, by testing this way you may find something that could be a problem.

I don't see why you could'nt shim the low spot. Get a couple of those wedge type shims at the local hardware store and put a skinny end in each way until it raises that corner enough and your good to go.
