However, D batteries were one of the most requested items on our rescue run! We couldn't get help there until 5 days after the storm and devastation hit, by then everything was used up.
Good news, they got the road open and are allowing Semi's only through with needed relief and emergency supplies. I guess we got lucky going through early enough there was no manpower to stop us!
I've still had no contact, but saw on the news that people can now get gas.
ATTN SOCAL: The storm is heading down the San Juaquin and expected to hit Orange County quite hard due to lack of vegetation, so anyone in that area, prepare. It should have lost some momentum, flash flooding is expected.
It's really weird to see my hometown on the news, from helicopter photos, having been there at night, I really couldn't see the severity of damage. WOW
