dont add thosechemical, its making it worse, people said take off dabackground if you have any

Who says this I would like to understand the reasoning behind removing the background? Does anybody really believe the arowana would be more comfortable being able to see the wall and the cords that are behind the tank?

Floating plants help with SA arowanas, not sure if they would work with the aussies. Could be worth a try.

thats a senegal birchir and black or white backgrounds seem to calm aros down.

id say leave the background ON. This ensures the aro doesn't see unneccessary movements.

Leave the background on.

You need to create an environment where the fish feels comfortable. The fact that it is eating is a good sign..however there could be something wrong with your water. Have you checked it lately?

If your lights are very bright I would suggest dimming them or turning them off completely.

I would also add some other dither fish such as silver dollars. This could bring the fish out of hiding.

The best thing imo is to get it a bigger tank. I find that growing fish out in smaller tanks tend to stunt their growth and they can also freak out due to feeling cramped.

Upgrading your tank would be your best bet imho.

The aro is feeling cornered. Too tight a space. Change tanks, please.

Also, Aussie do not like a lot of wc. Do a change once a week, onceyou get a bigger tank.

also floating plants like a thick blanket of them are reaasuring to the aro.

Thanks again for the advice everyone. I am setting up a 180 gallon tank and hope that the extra room will help. This is gonna be sad if he doesnt respond well.
