that looks really bad. you need to get him out and put him in a hospital tank. i would buy some Jungle brand "tank buddies" its a anti fungal but it works for gram negative rod bacteria--i have used it before for sores and it worked. he needs pristine water, i would also add aquarium salt too.

i dont know if that will heal-but i would try. best of luck to the little guy-it looks really painful. if you dont get him out, he runs the risk of that getting a fungal or bacterial infection from being overstressed, his immune system compromised, and not having constant waterchanges.

i notice in every post you always talk about water changes. "75% water changes/ 50% water changes/ i assume your not doing enough water changes/ water changes 3 times a week" fungus and bacteria, bacteria and fungus. water changes your bacteria covered in fungus, you should become a moderator specialized in water changing. make a sticky!

well thats because waterchanges are an important feature of fishkeeping-people could avoid alot of disease issues if they just DID THEIR WATERCHANGES. there, i said it again!
