Feels good to have several species of polytperus huh? :D

Thanks bro, the new lap is doing very well. Coloring up nicely on my dark gravel.

yea i'm am happy to have a couple differnt species of bichir but i Still want to get all the rest of the bichir species. Nice to haear your lap is doing great.

That's a fun goal xuwee, especially when you get to the harder to get or more expensive ones.

I just got another idea you can try, try feeding in two spots of the tank, so the fish are more spaced out at feeding time and hopefully the endli doesn't maul any of the others.

Actually what you are seeing isn't a fight,a fight is a whole different thing.Basicly what you are seeing is dominant behavior the endi is claiming the food as his just
a other bichir will claim a piece of driftwood as theirs and defend it chasing others away with a short chase and nipping. As suggested feed in at least 2 other places in the tank-Anne

You got a bunch of biters or what? lol All my polypterids get along, except one endli I had so I gave him to a friend.

idk, i think I got the weirdest freaking rope fish in the world... I thought they were the most docile group of fish in the world and love to be in groups but they nip at each other every once in a while randomly... especially when it comes to food.

They also don't really hang out with each other unless they get scared... especially one of them is a complete loaner.

they never do any damage (the ornate bloodied the dels fin when they were in a grow out but thats it)... just nip

*shrugs*

I've seen senegals approx.3'' establish territorys and defend them it did give me a good laugh watching them do it especially 2 of them. One claimed the top of the hydro sponge filter the other the bottom area under the sponge. The fun part was watching them try to chase each other from their prespective areas as it seems they thought the other was encroaching upon their territory go figure.-Anne

now a fight bichirs often put on quit the shows including slighty expanding thier bodies with water, flairing gill covers and raising the dorsal finlets. After the display
if the issue hasn't been settled. they line beside the other head to tail and whip their tails at eachother while releasing hormones and phernomes during this time they are also using information as to each others strength by the pressure waves eachother is exerting on eachothers lateral line system. If both are determined to proceed the tails are often gone after fisrt.I have seen lip locking and rolling did i mention a fight is a very wet adventure lol -Anne

Those little sens must've looked uber cute fighting over the same sponge lol
