Also last week I treated him for hex he was popping white stringy stuff I treated for 5 days on food soaked in a Epsom 3% water mix. That resolved the poop he is popping normal now . But today I saw the spot like thing on his tail fin could this be hole in the head or should I say tail. Please give me your opinions

Also it looks like there is something whitish coming out of the spot. Like puss when I squeeze a zit lol

He might of had an anchor worm some point in his life and thats a scar, it looks like an anchor worm entry hole. If theres still a fork like tail sticking out he defenitely has one. I wouldn't worry too much about it if it isn't bothering him.

Well there is nothing hanging out that looks like an anchor worm from what I can see. But I will be going away for a month and I'm worried about leaving him now .

Should I get him out of the tank and try and clean the area ?

Try putting a drop of Iodine on it. When are you leaving?

Thanx Aquanero im going to the store now to see if I can get some iodine and just so I know how long do I leave the iodine on before I put him back in the water

Just take a cotton ball and touch the spot to dry it a little put the iodine on the area wait about 30 secs and and put it back in the water. Have everything ready to go before you net it out and hold it in a wet towel. The whole thing should take less than a minute. Betadine, Iodine anything simalar is fine.

I just wanted to add I'm not saying this will cure the problem for sure if it's a sore or local infection like a pimple it will if it's viral or parasitic it will not. If it doesen't look better or gets worse then we'll have to try somthing eles sometimes it trial and error but I always try the simplest option first.
