The reaction is normal for an oscar in a new environment.

That's a water conditioner, which removes chlorine and chloramine. The sales guy is an idiot. It doesn't provide bacteria to cycle the tank. Tetra makes SafeStart but others have found Seachem Equilibrium to work better at seeding the filter.

You're gonna have to read up on how to do a fish in cycle, if you think you can't convince your wife to return the fish. It's a lot of work, and you need liquid water test kit and a water changer. I would keep trying to convince her to return the fish. Show her what happens if they are not properly taken care of.

That just removes chlorine from the tap water, look for "Seachem stability" or similar bacteria products for a quick cycle. "Seachem prime" or other ammonia neutralising products will be helpful to keep the fish safe in the initial period.

Don't feed to much and do frequent water changes to keep your fish healthy :)

I have never used that particular brand but those bacteria in bottle products can be good to have to get new tanks going. How long have you had the oscars in the tank?

i cant return the fish actually ... here in jordan fish stores doesnt return fish
and the bottle in the back does say that it provide BB , the oscars in the tank for like 2 hours

and isnt it very hard to fish in cycle with 3 oscars ?? or it may work ?? cuz they are really small mb 2" each

I see that you have three of them but they look a bit bigger than two inches. What size is that tank?

Feed light and do a water change every once in awhile 3 tiny oscars probably won't cause a significant ammonia spike in a 125. You can check your ammonia every few days but I wouldn't be too concerned. It's always best to cycle a tank fully but you'd have to significantly overfeed to have any real issues with so few fish. Also oscars are always weird the first couple days in a new tank.

so its a regular behaviour ?? i didnt have oscars in the past so actually 0 experience with them .... now if i feed them every other day and have 30% water change every 2-3 days will i be ok ??
