HELP! MY FISH WILL DIE, IT HAS WHAT 'THE POSSIBLE CYST BURST' POST BELOW FISH HAD!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
First I want you to test your water and tell me the numbers for ammonia,ph,nitrites, and nitrates. How big is the tank? Is it the 180? How many fish and what kind of fish? Any new arrivals? Did you quarantine them? What temp and is it aerated?

looks like HITH.. the parasite kind...I'de also clout it.. and hit the whole tank to make sure. no sense QTing now.. since it's already in the tank.

didnt realise there was a parasitic hih!!! k i will do, the midas done a really long stringy white poo!!!! worms i guess, hih worms!

its hith parasite hexamita! done some research!!! he hasnt eaten for 7 days now, has nasty worm things on his face and has done one long stringy poo, although he is still active! rushed out as soon as i got home and tryed to get some meds, failed as i work late... my other half is collecting them tomorrow morning and i'll administer in the evening! my local fish store havent heard of clout and advise on sterozin and octozin as treatment!

i understand if its caught before it goes too far its not fatal!!! need some crossed fingers!

anyone like to hazard a guess, is it early enough! elm aquatics said he was eating the morning i bought him 8 days ago!
anyone 50/50 chance on those meds??? less???
dont be soft, i want to know!

all the other fish seem fine, im still med'ing everyone tho!
its not that contageous right, all fish carry it ive read??????

anymore help people much appreciated, really holding my breath now....
at least he's diagnosed, waiting game!

yes the 180, sorry ashamed to say have no test kit and i am skint, barely afford meds as ive had car trouble! im confident the paramaters are good ive kept fish for years with no problems.
water changed weekly 20%, 82 degrees, air pump pumping into an internal sponge filter which mists the whole tank... two large externals....

had a few new additions including the said midas and no a didnt quaranteen, ive never had any problems before, live and learn!

it is HITH parasite HEXAMITA!

(i had oscars when i was younger who had a different sort of hole in the head, non parasitic... thats why i overlooked it!)

No they are not worms, white long stringy feces indicate the loss of blood cells. You need to calm down. Move the fish to its own tank and treat it there. If you treat the whole tank you are stressing out otherwise healthy fish and will have more problems. If you don't have an extra tank use a rubbermaid tote and aerate the water. Use clout and we will see how it does

You need a drop based test kit asap! Aquariums are full of disease and parasites. Healthy fish have no problem shrugging these illnesses of. Now if you have poor water quality in your tank, it stresses the fish, makes it more suspectible to disease. So go get a test kit. Hate to see anymore fish get sick.

Good luck with helping the guy out.

Its not hole in the head it sounds like anchor worms. You need to treat the whole tank. I'll go see what kind of meds you nee for it.
