HELP! MY FISH WILL DIE, IT HAS WHAT 'THE POSSIBLE CYST BURST' POST BELOW FISH HAD!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
def not anchor worms, ive checked loadsa pics. if you read up in depth on hith theres a parasite that usually comes with hith, hexamita.
this infects pours which rupture, its nasty s**t.

my car went wrong and im on monthly pay...! kits in my local shop are 10 pounds per one kit so ammonia nitrate nitrite ect... i'll try my best, should have them really!

ive never had a prob so stopped buying years ago... not even itch!!!!

i would rather dose them all to be fair!

heres a link to HEXAMITA which is different to hole in the head, even tho its called it many places
its a parasite!
http://www.guppydesigner.com/index..../653-hexamita-sp-octomitus-sp-spironucleus-sp

anyone who has a lump / zit / spot / bump that swells and bursts to leave white stuff hanging out needs to read this!

in the uk you can buy a 'waterlife' treatment called 'octozin'. sounds daft but 'carlsburg' the midas seems to have perked up just an hour after dose one! hope this works out!

thanks for id'ing the prob monsterminis, you are a legend!!!!

Ok dude good luck. You said there were worms on the fish. The only worms that I know of that are on fish are anchorworm. Your better off getting some prazi pro and treating for worms and then go on from there

BTW the treatment you just used works on them as well. Hope it works for you

Just trying to Help, and Glad to be usefull. I'de Def hit the whole tank. not sure how "comunicable" Hex is but I'de personally not take the risk with parasites. And you shouldn't see any adverse reactions from your other fish to the treatment. One of the few cases where you can treat the tank and see few to no negatives to useing it on healthy fish. IDK the life cycle but with all parasite infections make sure to keep a close eye for a re-lapse in the near future. Though it's not common, I see it alot with ick.. where even a few escapes come back to re-attack the fish.

Also keep close watch on your water quality and make sure your bio-system doesn't get hit. some meds will react negatively to your BB in your set-up and jeopardize water quality. Since they can go up and down so fast and dive w/out any notice I would def test while treating the tank. Poor water quality will kill your fish faster then any disease or parasite will and will often trigger or aggrivate underlaying health conditions. So a work-up of your water perameters is essential to a solid treatment plan.

Ajno also brings up a very good point about the poop... it's suggesting more then just the Hex, white stringy poop def points to internals, Anchor worms are pretty easy to ID. I'm not sure about the meds available in the UK.. But if you can treat with an IP food once he starts to eat again I would deffinately buy some.

the LFS you bought it from claimed it was eating.. ime no LFS pays attention to every fish all the time to make sure it is eating. I wouldn't say they lied to you, but I would take the info with a grain of salt unless your experiance there tells you differently.

- Maintaining water quality

- Treating with the right doses and duration

- Getting the fish eating

should be your primary goals. a fish thats not eating ime is not likely to survive. Even if you have to resort to offering to frozen bloodworms or freeze dried krill or brine shrimp. peices of nightcrawlers also often work to stimulate an appetite. IE anything to get him eating again.

Also keep close watch on the tank for other fish showing symptoms and any aggression towards your sick fish.

:)looking much happier after dose two:) getting the water tested saturday! when can i redose octozin? its a three day course but doesnt say how long betwwen treatments?

also ive been doing 30gal water changes daily due to the methylene blue, when shall i resume... guess the three day course has to be in the water for a while???

update, smaller fish are eating, larger ones still arnt! most of the meth blue is gone, whole tank treated with octozin.... midas hexamita seems to be gone.

lost both jd's and the midas and convict are showing same symptoms!!! occational dissorientation, once or twice an evening the jd's were going mental for a few seconds flying around the tank bashing into stuff swimming upside down then settle on the bottom for two minutes before returning to normal.... what is this? tested the water and seems all good! been doing 30% water change every 1 to 2 days.... at my wits end, jus started treating for internal parasites today!!!

lastnight / this morning lost collin the convict and carlsberg the midas.... rip. for the others, only time will tell! never had this happen before, random illness' and fish dropping like flies, can now relate to some of the other posts ive read recently!
