Hoping your guy makes a full recovery soon. How have you decided to treat him?

thanks for all the replies... seems like his skin is getting better. there are a few white spots. but he still has the bump abscess looking thing on his face. still stays on the bottom of the tank a lot. hopefully his skin getting better is the first step to getting better. changed the water a couple of times by 25-33%. used prazipro with the first water change. and fungus clear/ick clear with the second water change. water temp is 84-86%.

small waterchanges everyday and a little salt will do the trick. dont waste your money on meds next time

GL!!

How does ick occur anyways? I've experienced it once when I had an Oscar few years ago

usually its from a sudden temperature change, such as doing a water change with water that is a drastically different temp, it can be from stress, and it can be from a fish that already has it. the problem is once its in your tank, all your fish are vunerable , it has 3 stages to it and cant be cured until the white spots on your fish are gone, which to my understanding at that point it is in the tank itself and that is when it attaches to a host. correct me if i am wrong but i believe that is how it works.
