Help! My Fluval is leaking!

you need to lubricate the o-rings. first thing, dry the whole top cover of the canister. make sure there is no water. then grease up the o-ring and the area of where the o-ring should be (make sure no water is there). then fill the filter (bottom part) with water just enough so its full but not to overflow when you put the lid back on. the grease will slide that baby back in and don't turn it on yet. let it sit over night. wipe everything dry while its closed. then turn it on the next day. it still might leak a little bit but it will stop. keep a towel wrapped around the whole filter to catch all the water. keep checking on it every 15 minutes.
 
ive had 2 or 3 over the years most were ok i have a small 4 footer up stairs as well for wife running my old 204 it was got new .set thank up for her had not use it for a time been sat in cupboard for some time and mine started doing it ive heard of this before as well i got new seal it help but still leaked a bit try some petroium jelly and warm the seal up if you get it to seal it should hold use the jelly on inlet/out let seals as well they take in air sometimes you can hear it but dont leak out ,must warp with age hope this helps....
