hi,
my gg has gotten sick in the past week and i dont know what to do. it like it is losing the flesh from its body. the skin has become whitish. i am putting the pics as i dont know how to explain this.

i make a 25% water change every week but this week i couldnt do the water change because of college work. i am making a water change atm while i am typing this.

filtration 1 tetra ex700 canister one dolphin hob800 one dolphin internal filter.

tank size 180gallon

thank you

note: check the skin near the top fin.

What are your parameters (ammonia, nitrite, nitrate). Aside from the skin problems, it looks like there's some finrot going on, and finrot points to water quality.

i dont have a test kit so i cant tell the parameters.. that is not fin rot. that is done by my ck. it hates my gg for some odd reason. that has been done after the gg got sick. what can i do to heal the skin. is water changes enough. it is eating well and swimming normally too

Have you had your water tested yet? There's really no way to tell if your water changes are doing enough unless you know your ammonia, nitrite, nitrate levels. If the problem is water quality, and you've got a fish that's getting beat up, then he's not going to heal in bad water. Testing is where I would start.

i do not think the problem is bad water quality because i have a silver aro in the tank so i maintain good water conditions for him. but i think i will get my water tested just for confirmation. they gg dosent get beat up but this happened over night. the whole day i watched and the ck did nothing to her.i will make another water change tomorrow.
thanx

sorry to hear what is going on with your gg but i wish the best of luck! ive alway's liked these fish but seem to stick to my flowerhorn's and other aggro cichlid's good luck....

thanx but i wish some one could help me on this one.i have raised this fish since it was a small juvi and i dont want to lose it :(

I'd go with some Furan-2 by API. I've been having good results with their meds.
