I just bought two 7-9 inch long silver arowanas, after I put them in the new home, I keep the light off and room dark for 2 days. and then light the room. One of them has not eat anything for more than 1 week now, and the other one won't eat whenever I am around. ( I have used a VCR to record the tank, and find out the other one do eat when I am not around. )

Today, I turn on the aquarium light (more 1 week after them arrived), suddenly them all dive to the bottom of tank and stay in the dark. I had arowana before, and never see this happen, they always will fit into the tank for 2 or 3 days..

What should I do, I really worried the never eat one will die......

Anything I can do now? Help?

Good thing is, because I am afraid hand feed the original tank resident Florida Gar raw shrimp will scare the new aros, so I just drop some dry shrimp from LFS into tank every morning, and I found Gar start to eat the dry shrimp now. Accidentally trained gar to eat pellets like food, NICE!!

Perhaps a water quality issue? I've found my aros readily eat the first day including my new baby black. What are you feeding?

I'd pull the gar for now as they share the same space and may be stressing the aros.

Ammonia showing up could be your problem? How long has the tank been set up?

I will try that, my quarantine tank is really crowd right now, because I am afraid of my a pair of super aggressive oscars will hurt the aros, I already put them in the quarantine tank Quarantine tank: 20 gallon.
