my O.B.is breathing rapidly and looks like its breathing very deeply and spill out some of his eaten baby guppie.

My OB size is 10" he's spilling out 5-9cms of guppies. i have a clear bottom so no gravels nor stone could choke him.

Please help

Did you change the water?just keep an eye on the PH level, oxygen is important.
If your OB cant swallow the food, the chance is the food will be spilled out. That guppies are too big for your OB that it would choke it self. Give something else healthier, ie market shrimp, beef hearts, or bloodworms, have a look at stickies

Yes i did a water change, also i don't have any PH test kit now. I can only get it on weekends. As I checked him this morning. the breathing slows a little bit compared last night and I no longer see looks of being choked. But the problem now is he is still in rapid breathing and she is now very weak, I could grab him in 1 hand inside the aquarium, before i could catch him even I am using a fish net, because she's so fast. I have included half kilo of crushed corals and shells to the filter box provide more filtrations.

Also can I move him in my hospital tank? currently the hospital tank holds an endlicherri which survived from a finrot which i bought 3 days ago. The water is treated with Salt and methylene blue. please advice if that water condition will help my OB to gain her strength back.

Also I am interested on feeding my bichirs with beef heart. How can I prepare a good beef heart meal? can I feed this every day? Many thanks!!

what is the ammonia level in your tank, and how is oxygen getting into your tank? do you have a lot of surface agitation? and what kind of dechlor do you use as some only take out chlorine and not chloramines so your city may have recently added chloramines to the water

sorry i can't measure the amonia level of the tank(75gals). my submersible pump(1000gph) comes with a air blower on its side which produces current and a lot of bubbles(can be reduce or increase the amount of air blowing), I have put salt and anti-chlorine(generic one, but good. its around .50 cents USD for a bottle) in the tank. my other bichir(1 senegal, 1 albino sen, 2 del) and BGK seems ok with the water.. Please advise if I should move her at the hospital tank or put some medications in the current tank. Many thanks!

first thing to do is doing the right thing, just remember never trust the water from your local water supply, no matter how clean it is, it always contains chemical which could harms your fish, specially chlorine, its the worst poison for your fish.
Similar thing happen to me before, and thats when I had so little knowledge about keeping fish in the tank. I lost 3 ornates and other bichirs from chlorine. When it happened I couldnt save them, but I was able to save the rest of my bichirs.
For immediate treatment I quickly replace the water in my tank with water from my fish pond in the backyard, I know that the water is better compare to tap water, then I put as many oxygen as possible in the tank, slowly as my bichirs improving, I added salt in the water, a teaspoon per gallon, and always dissolve the salt first before you mix them into the water. I would say the number of salt given depending on how bad is the condition of your OB. Dont over due it, again just remember OXYGEN level in the water is very very important, eversince your bichirs breathing fast.
If you dont have any clean water then buy bottle water as many as you need. Its better to separate your OB into a separate tank and treat it intensively.
In a separate tank, I would lower the water level, cause bichirs always come to surface to breath, so I guess its better to shorter the distance between bottom of tank and the surface.
This is all I could say at this moment, dont bother feeding your OB at this moment since its conditions are not well, dont worry it wont kill your OB for no eating in awhile. If you put to much food in the water and our OB didnt eat them the it will just make your water even worse.
I use similar submersible pump in my tank, In fact I have few of those running.
Hope you find this information useful and your OB getting well. I use this methods so far when the worse thing happen. If everything goes well, you may wanna rethink about the set up in your tank, including filters and number of water chances. Find put if anything odd, and have a look at people tread in this forum, thats how I learn till now.
Keep us updates.
cheers

thanks guys, My wife called and told me that my OB is dead. The water i used was a stock one. I always use old water(1 day old minimum). again. thanks for the inputs.
