Help! My piranha has something on his side.. idk what it is. Plz help.. :/

Please test and post the results for the Ammonia, nitrite, nitrate and pH, what kind of feeding schedule, water change schedule, filtration, etc.

I personally think it looks like heater burn because its only in one spot and ammo burn USUALLY is a bit more spread out and grosser looking.
 
Mmm I very well could be wrong. Just wouldn't think a fish as skittish as a piranha would chill on the heater long enough to get a burn

Did a test today... the ph is 8.0 ammo is at 0... I don't have the nitrite, nitrate test strips... I'm gonna take a sample to my lfs this weekend for a more accurate reading.. thank u guys for the advice... oh and the temp is a consistent 80 degrees.. and I feed him twice a week.. I also do water changes twice a month...
