I just got this acrylic tank used and it is made by tenecor. Its 100 gallon but for some reason tenecor thought it was best to use 3/8" thickness on such a large tank.

It is bowed at the top right in the middle. Look at how uneven the top is compared to the back of the tank.

Is this safe or should I take it down?

Wow I really dont know what to say. But until someone that knows their stuff comes along I might drain some water....

Take it down and reseal.....I just had issues with my Glass 210 and had to reset my centerplate......for peace of mind, make it safe!

If its brand new maybe talk to the producer of the tank to maybe replace it

:iagree:

I would ask the people at tenecor if thats normal. I had a 150 gallon from truvu and it bowed. It never leaked when I had it. So I would assume woth the 3/8 thickness bowing should be expected.

I wouldn't do that. From what I've read about acrylics is resealing actually makes the original seal WEAKER.

Call them ...I bet they'll tell you there has been excessive weight on the top...It isn't any weaker because of that sagging...Bowing is generally on the vertical planes not the horizontal planes...

If the lids were weighted because of jumping fish, I.E. Arowana, it was done incorrectly...latches are a much better option on Acrylic tanks...IMO of course...
