Have you tested your water?
No
If I did not test my water...
  1. ...I recognize that I will likely be asked to do a test, and that water tests are critical for solving freshwater health problems.
Do you do water changes?
Yes
If I do not change my water...
  1. ...I recognize that I will likely be recommended to do a water change, and water changes are critical for preventing future freshwater health problems.
So I’ve recently got into the art that we call fish keeping and immediately thought of Oscar’s. My dad had em before I was born and some when I was young and loved em. He’s dead now so I can’t ask him so , that’s where you come into play. She clearly has some sort of something going on , I’ve been treating her for Ick … Went to the pet store and came back and she was covered in this slime after starting the treatment for ick…. Any suggestions ?

I’d dose some salt 1 tsp per g and api fungus cure. Any tankmates? How often are you doing water changes? What are you feeding?

I’ve been seeing nothing but good things about aquarium salts getting some tomorrow asap. I feed her a mix of things cichlid sticks , frozen cichlid delight cubes , I throw flakes in for her when I feed my other tank of mollies… I’m new to this and all I’ve got is what Ive been reading I heard that feeding them live fish causes hole in the head , I gave her feeder fish maybe twice before I read that and stopped… that was about a month ago. Unfortunately with the thought of her possibly having ich she has had a few water changes now more than I’d like to be doing…

the white substances looks a little mushy/fluffy, might be columnaris, and it could be growing stronger.
Columnaris thrives in conditions that normally rids ich.

not shore on the analysis though, hopefully someone else can fact check columanris here

It's not ick, that's for sure. Ick is many small white dots all over the fish.

Not my picture thank Google.

I would say it's fungal but the eye thing has me unsure. Columanris may be the case. If so you have to tear down the tank and bleach everything to kill it.

That definitely doesn't look like Columnaris. Don't break the tank down and dont bleach anything right now.

I would do salt and run a course or two of PraziPro, as I suspect Flukes of some kind. PraziPro is excellent to treat external/gill flukes.

Clean freah water can often be the best med, as well. Up your water changes. Remember to only replace the salt for the amount removed during the water change.
