help my Umbee changed colors

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
by looking at the body structure of your fish the body is more elongated and its trailers is longer than typical females... female umbee's have trailers but not that long like the one that you have. (Correct me if i'm wrong umbee experts). But just the body structure alone is a dead give away for me.

pics of the fish in question are needed to determine sex. I'v seen plenty of umbee's called males simply because of there traits and ended up female. pics are needed !!

How's about a video instead? I wasn't home to catch the lights turning on this morning but I did notice her pelvic fins were lined in black. Unfortunately, I do not have a camera good enough to capture this. I'll have to rent the dslr again and take a few pictures. When she did this her colors did not necessarily get stripey so much as her entire base color bleached to yellow and her pelvic fins turned entirely dark. I'll try to get a pic of this in the next few days. The video shows her normal coloration.
