Help need! All my rays stopped eating

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
b4 i got a drip system my rays would stop eating when my nitrates got too high. does your nitrate reader only go up to 60 ppm? if so it could be higher....

also happened to me when i left my drip system filters go for too long.

i have had my rays loose appetite and not eat for several days then all a sudden every thing back to normal like they never stopped eating. i also agree about your nitrate level from what i understand it is not good to have nitrates above 60 ppm. hope they get there appetite back for you i am sure they will.

Today they started eating some mp, but the amount is really quite little. One whole bowl of mp, 6rays only ate like less than 1/4 of them, while the remaining 3/4 was finished up by another 3rays in my glass tank.

Btw i've measured the ammonia and nitrite of the water in the tank. Both zero..

its deff cycling then. i would try to keep ur nitrate a little lower, even though it can be hard w rays.

Yeah i agree to maintain a low nitrate for rays are really hard.. Thinking of getting a denitrator..

u should look into a drip system.

Maybe they caught a bug/parasite from the new ray?

Actually I thought about it before, however i doubt the possiblilty of that, bcos I saw this ray once b4 getting it and on that day it was eating really well though it was separated and isolated in a separate tank from the rest as the owner claims that the male is over agressive over the female. :shakehead
