Hi I've a male MM. Since the 1st day it is with me, it is eating very little, the pelvic bone is constantly showing.. It is with me for about 2-3months.. The ray is currently being house with another 4 piece of MM in a FGT. The rest are eating like monster.:grinno: It is very active constantly swimming around but just refuses to eat much. Recently I notice that the area between the eyes is starting to develop a depression

. I've tried to feed it 2-3times with ghost shrimp and tubiflex, but it just eat very little. Thinking of transfering it out but it is already so weak is it a good idea

Any advise? What should I do with it? Hope I wouldn't lose him

how many males out of the rays i find if you have more than 1 male it may take him longer to start feeding right

THROW HIM IN A TANK BY HIMSELF OR WITH ONE OTHER SMALL RAY HIS SIZE. TRY LIVE BLACKWORMS, ALONG WITH THE GHOST SHRIMP. TO LAST 3 MONTHS HE GOTTA BE EATING A LITTLE. RAISE THE TEMP. UP TO UP HIS METABOLISM, AND DO MORE W.CHANGES. MAYBE A PRAZI PRO TREATMENT ALSO. COULD HAVE SOME INTERNAL BUGS TAKING HIS NOURISHMENT. CLEANING ALL THE RAYS OUT WITH THE PRAZI ONCE IN A WHILE IS GOOD ANYWAY I THINK.

Hi Actually this male is the biggest ray in the tank. Will try to heat up the tank abit. Sry do anyone knows whether singapore sells prazi pro?

just keep the tank dark and warm and keep offering the food.... some rays take a lil longer than others...

i'm having the same prob. i have a 20cm female motoro housed in a 90 @ 78C, ph=7 (i do freq WCs). tankmates are jardini, ST, spiny monster and cactus pleco. they leave the ray alone. she's really active and only eats bloodworms, i tried earthworms (of all sizes) but she only mouths them and spits out.

the tail bones are showing and i'm pretty concerned. i need to feed something more substantial than BWs.

how often do you feed your ray ?
try keeping a ready supply or bws in the tank at all times,
or if you need to try starving your ray of bloodworms for a few days and try only feeding it earthworms in that time, might work.
another trick that i used and seemed to work was soaking earth worms(or whatever you want your ray to eat) in bloodworms for a day then feeding it to your ray.
having the earthworms soaked in bloodworm juice for a day, your ray should slurp up the small earthworms in no time.
just takes patience and a few days of starving them here and there.
that stuff worked for me, now me ray eats anything, even some of the discus food and sinks to the bottom before they can eat it, heh

good luck
