Local shop has a Redspotted Aro, hes about 3 to 4in., a couple of weeks ago i was in there and he was calm, moving around at a healthy speed even follow my finger around a little, i said to my self i have to have him!! so i go there this weekend to buy a tank setup and see if they still have him,, well he was zipping back and forth like he was on meth, way in the back on the bottom of the tank, nothing in the tank but him. i open the lid to look down on him and he jump out about 12in. and i was lucky he landed right back in, scared the **** right out of me

What type of arowana are they?
he does have red spots on his fins. ive looked for them here but seen all kinds but no redspotted, are they called something else to narrow my search down
second, hes a few bucks which is not a problem cause my lovely said she pay half for my Bday,
but is there something wrong with him acting like this, and can he be helped
and Picture will help me to make sure thats what im looking at being so small

Good stuff, I like it when people do their homework first. If what you saw was a jardini, you might have a few problems with tankmates in the future. In most cases, jars tend to be agressive and are generally kept in its own tank, isolated from any tankmates. It seems like its acting normal, the jumping is also normal. When spooked, they will jump, and they seem to be able to jump out of the smallest holes in your lid, so make sure your lid is held down securely.
