hi i just got my jar 2 days ago its around 4 inches and so far it hasnt eaten the feeders i left in the tank for them i was wondering when will it start eating and what are the odds of getting an infection for it and by the way im new to MFK thank you for your time :)...

give it time try crickets

It would be better to get it off the feeders IMHO. You can try crickets (some people remove the legs for small aros), mealworms, earthworms (cut into pieces), small pieces of shrimp meat, pellets, live feeder shrimp...

Also try teaching him to take floating pellets, but that is sometimes difficult.

My jar eats anything that hits the water! :D

hes probably trying to adjust with his new environment.
give the lil guy more time.

agreed. also how big are the feeders your throwing in?

my jar is about the same size and he eats live blood worms, baby guppies, and hikari pellets

enjoy.

I just saw your other post with pictures. For such a baby, I think a feeder goldfish is a little large - Try guppies, especially since he does chase the fish around. He'd be more comfortable tackling smaller prey, THEN once that happens, work on getting him over to pellets/etc.
