try to keep the tank light off for a couple of days and try feeding the little small minnows they got at petco & petsmart. if you cant find guppies near you. you get a better deal at petco with the card though. 9 cents each compared to 12 cents.. .

It would be better to get it off the feeders IMHO. You can try crickets (some people remove the legs for small aros), mealworms, earthworms (cut into pieces), small pieces of shrimp meat, pellets, live feeder shrimp...

Also try teaching him to take floating pellets, but that is sometimes difficult.

My jar eats anything that hits the water!

Go with pellets, that is what I have always fed mine, still do, and it's over 12" now. They can get expensive when your fish gets bigger, but it beats introducing parasites/disease to your tank....Also, like others have said, mealworms, aka, arrow crack.
