Help on Closed Loop w/spray bar

Just a standard piece of PVC the same diameter of the inlet of the pump. You can use two PVC 90s and make a hook that can hang on the tank. Then you just pipe it as low as you want. You can buy a foam prefilter that will just slide right over the pipe. You can also use Krylon Fusion to prime and paint the PVC. Just let the Krylon cure for more than 24 hours then you can put it right in the tank with no worries.

It can cost a little more money but you can use flexible tube with barb connectors. You can also put a ball valve on it. This way if you ever have to remove the pump you do not have to put it in a bucket to take it apart, and you can also leave it primed.

Assemble it all then suck on the return or the intake. You could be extra fancy and put a an airlifter pump in either the return or the drain. This will suck the air out of the pipes to create a vacuum for the water but why spend the extra 30 or so dollars for something, when breaths are free.

I had a similar problem with my 210 megaflow, although not sure if that's what yours is? Mine has 4 drilled holes (2-1" drains, 2-3/4" returns), yet the drains alone aren't big enough (in my mind) for decent flow in that tank.

Instead of wasting the 2 perfect holes in the bottom for return lines, I used them for more flow. I hooked up my 2-3/4" return lines for future drains with ball-valves (although currently I'm still debating about using them for closed-loop or do I really need another pump in the sump).

The return lines then just go up the back of the tank and feed out the top of the overflow. Looks the same on the outside, but I get 2 more drilled holes for anything I want. Might help in your case as well, although may require some rework on your returns lines.

A spray bar kit attached to a powerhead and mounted low in the tank would work well Ehein sells the add on kit or you could always make one out of PVC.

I tried that but gravel kept going in the powerhead because the fish were so crazy. I was looking to have a pump outside the tank. Thanks again.

Thats a pretty good idea too. But I was looking for something to have a spray bar at the bottom of the tank, and if the power goes out not back siphon my tank. Thanks for the idea tho.
