I have a 125 gallon tank 6ft by 1.5ft deep. I have a couple baby flowerhorns in the tank right now(trying to choose the one I want to keep) but I want to add a Oscar to this tank, using a divider. Is there a way to place this divider to keep them both having enough room? Or am I dreaming?

Sadly, dreaming. It would work very short term while your oscar grows. At about 1” a month you don’t have long before it would need more then 3’ to be happy.
Does the flowerhorn need 3 feet? Couldn’t I split it unevenly?

Flowerhorns need a minimum 6’ tank just like the oscar does. So 3’ is only going to work for a short while. I’ve never kept a flowerhorn so I don’t know how fast they grow. My guess would be around the 1” a month like oscars.

Tankmates need to be bigger then the oscars mouth as it grows. Silver dollars seem to be a really popular choice.

I would forget the O with the flowerhorns in the tank. Oscar won't be aggressive enough to live with a FH with no divider, and divided, the tank won't be big enough for either fish. There are some smaller, more aggressive CA cichlids that might be able to live with your FH. Salvini would be an idea. But it depends on how murderous your FH is.

seriously, flowerhorn does not need much space length wise.... instead they need more space height wise.....

I have to respectfully disagree.
I haven’t kept a flowerhorn before, but I have a male gt. And flowerhorns get bigger and are more aggressive then him from what I’ve seen and read here. Oscars also get bigger then my male will. But even he isn’t happy with 4’ of swimming room. So why plan on keeping an even bigger fish in a smaller space?
The fish will live, but it won’t be happy.

The only cichlids I know of that utilize height than width/length are angels and discus, maybe festivum.
G Galantspeedz what is your reasoning for saying FH's don't need much space? Just because lots of people cramp them into bare tiny tanks and they don't die?
