Hello everyone,

I have just got those 3 polys and I would appreciate if someone could help me on ID them.

Tks guys!

I have been wondering if the third one would not be a PBB... It was sold as being one and as I am not a specialist...
Do you guys know if there any particular signs that identifies a PBB? Also what is the main difference between the nigerian and the guinea lap? Patterns?

the third one is a Nigerian lapradei.

The major difference between laps and Pbb would be the head shape and the head features (e.g. the head length of Pbb is somewhat longer, the lower jaw of Pbb is thicker giving off the impression that it's pointed upward more). The number of dorsal finlets is also different, although there's slight overlap (14-18, typically 15-16, for Pbb. 13-15, typically ~13, for lap). There are also some differences in the body patterns.

as for Nigerian vs Guinea laps, the main and most obvious difference would be the patterns. the head shape may also be a little different depending on the variants of Guinea laps.

Tks for the info! It has been very helpful. I thought that there might be a chance of having at least two different species considering that you can notice a better defined pattern on the first one compared to the second and third ones that are kind of faded...
With 3 nigerian laps, I need to get some other different ones for my collection, hehehe (5 endlis, 2 sen alb, 1 sen, 1 ornate, 1 del, 1 palmas)...
I like the lower jaws with robust body shape, like the endlis...
