the fish stressed out...give it something to vent its stress to....I used to have 2 tiger oscars, both of them kept going at the powerhead until the tubes and the powerhead unit stop functioning..these guys are very aggressive at times..

i have a lone 10" oscar in a 38 gal with simple decor and it has never had an episode like that maybe its the red devil. or it could be stressed out from a water change or something like that
im sure youre oscar is fine byt if you have a mirror tank than it could just be that it is trying to fight its self.
