My little brother just told me that his frog is not eating. I got it for him for Christmas and its eaten a bunch of crickets and meal worms until now. I haven't looked at it for some time until today and this thing is anorexic skinny:WHOA::confused:. He tried putting crickets in its tank and they just die before the frog eats them. They even crawl over his mouth and head without a reaction. He just tried a pinky mouse and it showed now interest at all. I don't know what to do.

frog is a 2.5" pacman
Tank is a 10 gallon
substrate frog moss
heat, under the tank heater (78f)
shallow water dish

Please help if possible.

There are so many factors behind this. I would go to a frog forum for this. I have kept a number of horn frogs before and usually problems like this of from improper husbandry. Maybe you should bump the temp up a bit. Could be impacted with the moss. Use bed-a-beast. It's alot safer. May want to consult your vet.

he could have eatten the substrate or dried out too much. soaking them in very shallow warm water and place live fish in the water, make sure its so shallow that the fishes tops fins are comming out and drawing his attention. That always worked for the ones I would get in at the pet shops i worked at. Oh almost forgot do all that and leave him in the dark for like an hour.

It also flips on its back and gets stuck upside down. Yesterday she flipped over in her water dish and swelled up like a ballon. He pulled it out and put it in a dry dish and it peed all the water out. He really wants to save her but a $100+ vet bill is out of the question.

i agree,

i'd bump up the temp and make sure that the moss is well moistened

Something is very strange about your frog:confused: Exotic vet asap
