Ok lads. Here i am with my "problem" ive got a 380g tank 102x30x30" or 255x75x75cm and now is the time to order aros. And i got these prices from my LFS, Green 305$, Banjar red 380$, RTG 535$, Super red 1050$. They are around 5-6" My budget is 1800$ or absolut max is 2150$.. The thing is i want more then one fish this first time. So combination would u guys get?? problem is im scred to buy to few since they might start picking on each other. i realy want a red but maybe its better to get a few more other aros insted since they are cheaper. I know green and Banjar are low grade but there isnt that many Asians here in sweden to choose between. i was planing to import asians my self but ive got some problems atm with my "fish storage" so i cant keep that many at the time as it is now

he also told me they got super banjar red and as far as i know is there "only banjar"

Ill probobly orde from him soon again tho

green $305????????
that's insane..

1. its very hard to put green aros with other aro they are more agressive than other asian aros

2. if it was easy to put green asian aros in the same tanks you would see alot more green asian aro com as they are cheaper :D

3. if you buy a banjar red of any kind you will be disapointed with it and always wished you had spent a little bit more on RTG

4. you need 6+ asian aros to make multi asain aros work

5. your tank is to big to start off with 6 x small asian aros you will need to make the tank smaller buy putting in a partion to make the tank 30inch x 30inch then give them more space as they grow

6. their is no point thinking you can add silver aros to make up the numbers the silvers will just sit back and watch the asian aros fight it out

7. i think we have told you all this before when you asked :D

I dont get why a smaller aro would need a smaller tank to start off in?
If you gave it a big tank it will grow quicker...

I am not sure, but I think it has somethin to do with temporarily overstocking it to reduce the aggression levels.

If the tank is too big, they will get too comfortable and possibly go on a killing spree.

Just guessing, never had or even seen asians (in person).

T1k i know that u had some problems with ur aro com but i want to hear what all u pros have to say then ill go from there. And i might just go for 4 RTG then and then get a Red after a few month when i know its ok. I got a 100g tank if so but i dont like to move fishes from tank to tank since i lost some fishes when ive done it, not all but a few. And i know Banjar is a lowgrade but i was thinking to get a lowgrade to stock it more or so, i can always get more aros later. And that green are more agressive was a new thing for me, i had no idea thx. And i didnt say silver aros i said silver dollars ;) The owner of panda told me its a good thing to put fishes like these into the tank to crowd it a bit he use to do it. I got a 75g tank i can use to put the RED in later when i get it,and see that those other are ok before i place him with rest of them..

The thing is sure i could wait and get a bigger budget to start with but its not everyday they get imported here so i got 1 month to make up my mind what i want. So 4 aros is deff a no go even if its silver dollars or so in the tank??. Or ill just get filterfoam and devide the tank for a few month.

thats a big tank for some small fish. the general rule is 5 or more if they are sharing a tank. any reason your starting with more than one? almost everyone wants to trade up....
