Help picking asian aro

there has been some sound advice given alreadly, for me personally i would go for a single red, there is almost no doubt if you went green or gold you would want to upgrade to a "HIGHER" grade fish. i think its human nature, even though you may have the best rtg, society pressures so to speak will make you want to upgrade to the best.

for me personally i would rather have one really nice red then 4 rtg's, being able to groom one perfect aro as in perfect finnage, scales, barbel, size is more rewarding personally then having 4 big aro's that have torn fins, missing scales, uneven growth etc, etc.....

you could fill out the rest of the tank with suitable tank mates that will all live in harmony with the aro. fei feng, blood parrots, dats, peacock bass, clown knife.

this is all just a personal view, im sure you could work out a community if you really wanted to.

I wanted more then one becouse they are hard to get here. And i thought it was better to get a few of them when i had the chance. Ive been thinking of getting just one red but it will look so lonly to just have one. Dont u think its better to get like 4 RTGs then and wait for next shipment and get a red then? I can then place the red in a smaller tank of his own to make sure he grows up fine before i place him with the others?? It will probobly be like 6month again before i can order again. Not sure but its not every week that u get the chance to buy them
 
you will need 6 aros or more

i started with 6 x xbacks it was ok for about 3 months then they started fighting so i added 2 x more RTG the fighting is a bit better now but i have 8 x 13inch aros and my tank is smaller than yours

i tryed adding a banjar and sold it after 4 days dont know what made me buy it in the 1st place it was just to make up the numbers

you need to buy 6 x small RTG put them in the 75g for a few months then move them up to the 100g they really need to be packed in to make it work

if they have to much space they hold their ground and if another aro comes into that space all hell brakes lose

mine are getting bigger now and have less space and its getting better

i was lucky i didnt pay for all of my aros but if i did i would have been real scared with the fights that went on that i was going to lose a lot of money

you need to have a strong heat to mix asian aros as it chould cost alot of money if it goes wrong
 
T1KA: I know, i realy dont want it to go bad since i have to pay for all of them. But if i get a red now then ill have problem trying to add more later when the red has grown. And i realy dont want banjar but i was thinking get a cheap one just to get a more aros. I realy dont think they look **** but i rather have an extra RTG yeah. So you guys wouldnt try get more then one?? 380g tank for one fish?? Has anyone tried to pack it up with other fishes that isnt that expensive?? So 6 is absolut minimum? no matter tank size?? Damn this is hard i just want few of each colour lol. Ive never seen a good pic of a grown banjar. I would be happy if some of u had a pic of one to show me

one more thing. NAN light what is that? what kind of lights? it looks mint. Who makes them and how much are they.
 
hey why don't you try a single cross back rtg and a few rays and some nice dats
like t1k's previous setup minus the tig

if u put a deviders in does it have to be a glass one so they can see the other fishes or is it just to make the tank smaller and let them grow? yeah one red isnt bad i know but i realy want a community tank. And i was thinking of getting the red next time and let him grow up on his own in a 100g before i put him with the rest. But 6 aros now will be hard since my new tank cost me 2000$ and then all filters and rest of the stuff.
 
6 aros is the min i would start with

and make the tank with a divider 30x30inch to start just use egg create

you should be ok adding a red at a later date as the reds are less agressive

you have saved and got the tank sorted just save some more and get the right amount of aros you need whats the rush
 
Ill see what i can do about getting 6 of them.. Ill do my best. But do u think it will be harder if i get one red now and add the other later?? Curse ill ad all at the same time and let them grow up a bit first before they join the red. I only had jars so i dont know how aros behave in a com tank
