HELP please! Adult 16" umbee not eating

Thanks for all of the responses. I am gonna move him to a 75 and clear him up. Just put the Epsom in the tank water? I will grab the parasite guard on the way home use it the same way? He is very aggressive still... could I pump a feeder with medicine and let him eat it?

How long has it been since he ate last? Umbees that size can go a month with it feeding.. If he's not showing signs if parasites then leave him be

Ok guys he is eating again. Started off mouthing garlic flavored foods treated with metro. Then he took a few pellets and he has been eating since. Seems to be getting his appetite back. This guy used to pound pellets. It was a bit of a shock to see him turn them down.

I've continued to feed him treated food it seems that he really is coming around now. He is even picking up food from the bottom which he never did before. I guess the garlic flavoring is the trick? Has anyone else had a similar experience? Either way I am happy he is eating again. I will post a video of the pair once their fry becomes free swimming.

Fish go on hunger strikes all the time don't automatically assume that it's a parasite because you haven't seen it eat for two days. I would definitely monitor it closely.even sometimes after something as simple as r escaping the tank fish may not eat for a couple days.
