BB in the filter and biomedia, water basically has nothing except nitrates and the like. Like the others have said you should probably go with the water changes. they should be weekly water changes normally anyways. Water changes are good because they add in nutrients that your fishes or rays may need.

Hate me for this if you like, but if you don;t already know the answer to this from your previous experience with tropical fish should you really be keeping rays?
Well i think i have the experiance to do this and all i am asking is how to properly change the ph in a tank firstly and if i had just fish i would be asking the same question if i had to move them in a bigger tank dont be so judge mental and i am taking pretty go care of my ray thank you!... i am guess non of you guys ever had any issues...and PLUS i am a vet and i think alot of people out there shouldt be keeping animals but i dont tell them that to there face!!!..so be nice..
Which pet store on the island told you that 2 or 4 gallon water change was too much and you were removing the bacteria. Before every one goes rabid on this, there are a few stores on the Island that just plain lie, or do some shady ****. I've seen people burned badly by a few stores, about tank size, fish size etc. Think of the employees as the same type of scum one would noramlly find and the old Camera stores. Calling them predatory would be ebing nice.
Now here's where we disagree. If some idiot wants a pet that they are not suited for then it is your job to tell them so. Who other than your vet can you trust to be honest about an animal?
by law if they are bring in an animal to get treatment ur not allowed to say anything about the way they care for them u can only suggest!

I find it hard to believe a vet would have the grammar and spelling that you have. I don't mean to argue about it with you, but you don't need to claim that you are a vet to get people off your back, it is probably going to rile everyone up even more at this point.
