Help please! Delhezi developing red eyes?

a).Could be an injury from decor inside the tank
b).Gram-negative bacterial infection
 
The redness is around the eye, not in the eyeball itself, sorry for the crappy pic, but neither the camera or bichir were co-operating, its the best one of many.

Sorry dont know about the water conditions, although it did happen following a decent clean and water change... mmmm

The only other thing im worried about is that he may have swallowed a piece of gravel. Ive meaning to replace the gravel with sand, as ive heard that sand is better for bichirs.

Dont think its injury, there is only a peice of bogwood and a whole lot of java moss.

As far as bacterial inf. I dont know, i dont think it looks like an infected wound. Although Im a microbiologist in a medical laboratory, so ill swab the little guy and see what grows... haha.
 
Hey, for a feeding option have you ever tried Hikari Sinking Carnivor pellets? My Bichar eats them like mad plus I hate feeding anything feeder gold fish cause they're just nasty little fish and you never know what they have (parasites/diseases).

Cheers will look out for some. Although hes only small... How big are the pellets?
