hmmm ok, well from the sound of it they dont do any more than what some of yalls reportedly do at feeding time. no they arent hurting themselves, and yes i do stand there right in front of the tank watching them. come to think of it the delh has done that even when he was in a different tank with a different substrate. maybe its just his personality. so heres the question, how do i find out if they are fine? ... also iv just decided i wolnt be able to keep them, college and such is making things difficult... i could go on a rant about that but im sure you'd rather not hear it. so if anyone wants them and lives near me ill give them up for a pretty fair price to a good home. i live near marietta georgia by the way.

oh, and yes this behavior is only at feeding time and my water is fine.

"looks like they are in pain and trying to get out"
what did you mean by this?
are the water params fine?
are they eating well?

they are eating fine its just they will get several mouth fulls down and then start to go wild like theyre all liquored up or something. it just looks weird at times like maybe there's something in the delh's head and he cant get it out... but then again he's a fish and i dont know, maybe its just how he like s to act... and now that sounds stupid. ok what are your ideas?

maybe the foods too big too swallow properly?
but if they are eating fine and water params are fine everything should be okay.

you might be on to something there with the food being to big. iv been feeding chopped whiting and earthworms. all my polys are still about 5-6" so their mouths are still relatively small and i dont always get those chunks diced up real fine. in fact, i even saw my delh having trouble getting a bite down the last time i fed them. huh, that might be it. ill try just shredding into the fish next time and see if smaller pieces make a difference.

my polys would swim all over the tank and act nuts when they had stuff too big too eat in their mouths.

if it isnt hurting itself then i guess its just happy or very hyper. mine is top of the water going all hyper then it dives down and runs into the group of datnoids. every now and then. and my dats turn unstable for about 10 mins. and my bichir does it again. :D
