HELP PLEASE --fish emergency

I would actually like to have a group of bala sharks to compliment my datnoids but I would have to grow them out to a safe size where they wouldn't be eaten....Very rarely have I seen large balas for sale.

Yeah. The biggest I have seen are like 4 inches. I had 3 and 2 of them didn't make it through a water change gone bad (water company started adding more chlorine then normal to the water, I lost 6 fish because of it. I never had to use any thing in the water before and now I have learned big time) but he survived and I have never found large enough ones to put back into the tank. So he hangs with tinfoil barbs and silver dollars. The ones I always see are only a little over a inch. Even the petsmart that has a tank for large size will have tiny little ones in there. They just take such a long time to grow.

My two bala's are at least 7" each. They're great to keep with datnoids. They're very fast and have that the speed w/power.
