How the heck do you figure that the ingredients in Hex-Shield is going cure a bacterial infection in a fishes head? It only helps eliminate Spironucleus aka Hexamita, which is a parasite. HITH is not a one size fits all scenario. Use the search feature and my user ID, I've posted about this plenty over the years.

While I agree he is still pooping funny again. Clearish long stringy stuff. It's not all the time, he still poops normally alot of the time, but there is most definitely something going on in his gut/digestive track.

And to be honest there is no infection or at least it doesn't look like one at all.

Well by now it certainly seems that the traditional treatments/medications are not having any effect. If the hole is bigger, and deeper, as you stated, then that means more tissue is likely dying. I suspect that if you placed a swab of that tissue under a microscope you would find bacteria at work. What Diesel recommended could very well stop that necrosis in it's tracks, allowing new tissue to grow back. Or, you could keep trying the more traditional treatments.
Your fish, your call. Good luck.

Do you think that catching the fish and applying meth blue on is the right thing to do?

If I am to treat the bacteria infection assuming there is one what medication would be the best choice?

meth blue can be used to treat both bacterial and fungal infections

First 2 photos are July 10th

The last 2 are just now but I have a hard time getting the right angle on it.

It's definitely not much bigger than it was but some days it seems to be more noticeable.
