some of you may remember me saying that i got a gold nugget with a sunken belly and then he recovered - well now he is gradually swimming round the tank more and more. but i caught my angels trying to nip his fins - in fact whenever he moves, all they do is swim after him - all six of them! and try and bite his fins! what should I do? he is very small, no more than 3 centimetres long. i feel sorry for him because he is trying to swim around but they dont let him. i have a 10 gallon hospital tank, should i move him to this? i was thinking maybe this could stress him out? he is in a big tank, and lots of hiding places, but its only when he comes out that they try and bite him.

you could try shutting off the light for a while, but I would move him until he gets bigger.

i agree with wat he said. if u move him into the hospital tank he might get stressed but at least he will be able to move around and not get nipped at

So I should move him into my hospital tank? I am not planning on buying anymore fish anyway, not for a couple of months. So I will just transfer water from the tank he's in to the 12 gallon tank I have and put a heater and a hiding place in there for him. The tank has no hood - would he jump out? I can always just cover it with something and leave the corners slightly open.

ok, from what you both said, i have a plan...tomorrow morning i'll buy an extra pump and then let it run in my main tank until the evening (late at night) then when he comes out i'll have already transferred some water from the main tank to the hospital one and then move him to then add the new pump in too and add some food the next day for him. i mean he can't stop eating and get stressed if the water hasn't changed, right?

Hey guys, the day has finally come to move my nugget into my q tank. Been running the new pump in the 400L for a week now, then took some water from the main tank filled up half tank, then the other half tank filled with treated tap water. Now the big question: How do I catch my plec...He hides under the stupid Juwel filter, there is no way I can get a net under there and catch him - not enough space for a net to fit in there let alone my hand. the tank is in my bedroom,if he comes out and I approach the tank he quickly swim under the filter box.

guys please answer coz i really dontknow how to cach him from the tank. tried again just now and he jus hides underneath that box filter thingy - too small for my net or hand to go into
