Ummm... nothing. If they are that agressive, a 37 will be a bit too small for a "friend" to claim its own territory in the tank. If you go with a larger tank, there are plenty of fish that can cohab with parrots. i.e. convicts (sometimes), firemouths, oscars, texas (sometimes), green terror etc... The list is pretty long. Some non cichlid tankmates can be plecos, sydontinis cats, larger barbs ... But the key is tank space. With a 37, I'd say you're full.

parrots can't close their mouth. A smaller new world cichlid should be ok. Parrot may chase it but wont do any damage.

Not all are like that. Some can. For a 37g plus belligerent attitude, I doubt anything will last long in there.
