Hey Everybody, Happy Holidays hope all is well!

I have a question about tank sizes for Black Banded Cat Sharks. I will most like purchase my future shark from liveaquaria.com because that is the only site that I know that sell them. Also how long can 5-8in cat shark live in a tank with the dimentions of 48 x 24 x 25?

Curious because a pet shop in my area is selling a floor model tank. The tank comes with the stand, lights and hinged tops. The original cost for this set up was near $1200.....petlands aren't cheap. The stand of the floor model has some scrapes but the tank is in exellent condintion. Thier willing to sell it for about %75-80 off. I save like $900!!! The stand jjust needs some painting. Please respond!

Also any other sites you trust that ship sharks please tell me!

Actually you would be luck to keep a new born bamboo shark for a year in a 120 gallon tank.

And by rights should already have a larger tank, that's ready to move it into by the time it's about 9 months old.

If thats true why have I seen new born bamboos in reef tanks that are 55gal. Yes the do grow out of the tank but not to say that they cant last longer then a year in 125gal.

Well thanks for the help guys, btw I have a plan for a custom tank with dimentions of 6ft by 4ft by 25in....one of my cousin's friends build tanks and he will give me a tank for a good price. As of right now he is down in Florida vacationing and should return to New York in a few weeks. I dont know for sure how long will the tank take for him to construct....As for now I will start off with a 125 gallon tank because I have this in my shed

hey, new pups in a 55 are fine, ken was just saying that a year in 120gals is cutting it close. i agree with that as well.

a 125 would be a great pup tank, don't worry. but i think you know that the sooner you set up the permanent tank, the better. also, you should go bigger than 6'X4'X25" - these fish need [and deserve] it.
