my water is keep having a color green but its clear i dont know what to do with it. i already have a sump with a 9watts uv in it. i was planning to put some reactor for more filtration. theirs a sun light hitting the tank for about 30mins long. but the tank is in a air condition room. is their an advice how to keep my water crystal cleaR?

I am planning to put some reactor, is it helpful to a freshwater tank?

thanks,
andy,

The problem may be that the aquarium could be to close to the window , are you using other light source for aquarium?

pleco!-) mine keep my 100g clear when next to a window... difference was night and day! if its actually the water wrap the tank in bin bags for a week and keep the curtains/blind shut during the day.. or move it away from the window...

it wasn't that close to the window... it hit by the sun light during 4:30-5pm... but water is clear no algae found inside the tank. my only problem is the water turns to green. some guy told me to put some UV in it and already done it and it still green.

yes i have other light source aquarium light color pink.

is the UV new or used? when i had my tank next to a window my water turn green and stays green with water change i can see fish then later 3 days it turns green to the point where i cant see my fish.. once i brought a new UV and installed it.. it cleared within a day of use..

the uv is new. i have an advice for you guys dont buy 2nd hand stuff like equipment for the aquarium bcoz you never know till when you can use it. as for my experience in 2nd hand stuff...

i'll take a picture to let you guys see whats the prob. i'll be posting day n night time pics...

are you sure the UV is lite?? meaning that the UV light is lite bright from the sight hole of the UV unit... i know it's new but sometime even new components may still be malfunctioning before reaching to you... i have my turbo twist and the end of the unit i can see at the sight glass that the bulb is lite bright and in working order..

Sounds like a problem I had in my tank. I called it the pea soup effect. UV works, just make sure your unit/bulb is working. Someone's things get messed up in shipping.
