Do any of you guys have trouble siphoning crap out without taking the sand withit? Does it get cloudy after water changes with pool filter sand?

pool filter sand doesnt cause any problems when doing gravel vacs.
I just dont like the look of the play sand. It's too fine for my taste.
Some do like it, but I tried it and I hate it. Born, I wish i could find the pacage my sand came in. My ray does great on it.

I thought I'd mention that this bag of Pool Filter Sand says it's pure Quartz sand. Still inert and safe for all species?

It's cool:) Go for it:D

Fake picture!!!!

No tanks looks that GOOD!!

Even if it doesn't have fish in it!?!

And how do you get a tank that size to levitate like that ?

The only thing wrong with play sand is that the quality varies greatly in different parts of the country. Play sand bought in the south can be a different color, finer or courser, cleaner or dirtier than sand bought in the north, southwest, or wherever. Example, I'm planning on changing one of my tanks over to sand on Sat. The play sand around here is a red clay looking, dirty material that won't do at all. However, the pool filter sand is a great looking sand that looks very clean.
