I agree its almost like a fish lottery ticket, and tooth i wasnt being rude its just i used to have a large mayan and it took me ages to ID it and caused alot of debate so i condider myself good at telling them apart now lol

I didn't take it as rude. I've been spending alot of time on here and have learned alot. That's what this site is all about right! I have a juvie mayan, got it a couple months ago. I know they get mistaken for festae once in a while. Mayans have the blue vert. bars that lighten and darken. This one shows amphilophus for sure though.

it looks kind of like a lowgrade zz x jk FH to me, earlier pics did resemble a barred midas tho

I guess it could have some Mayan in it, if you look at my old mayan

although i think if people were breeding its parents or whatever specificaly they wouldve gone with festae over mayan for the colour

it looks a lot like this hybrid I have now that's apparently a manaconda(festaeXjag)Xred devil/midas. Here's a time sequence of his growth.

this thread is like a year old, guys.
but it faded, and passed away shortly after that :(

Yes , i agree with you . Red texas dont have red eyes and stripes . It looks to be little like flowerhorn or may be it would be a cross breed .

it was pretty cute, pearly fins. pretty much looked like a pearly midas.
