About 3 months ago I bought this little guy. I'd say he was shy of 3".
He is now about 7"
It is best when you buy one isolate him in a tank by himself until he gets some size and it won't take long if you feed him twice a day just enough to make his belly swell. I then put him in my larger tank with a 12" Aro and a 12" Clown Knife. If I did not observe him in the first few hours I would have lost him because the CK was attacking him and ripped a 1/4" gash in his belly right behind his anal pore. I quickly removed him and put him in my other tank and he healed up nicely. He is back in the bigger tank and I isolated my CK in a different tank. The aro's get along great.
Try to keep the water parameters stable. No major fluctations in pH and temperature. Don't give up totally on these awesome fish but do research before your next purchase. Good luck!!!
