Help! ray attacked other ray what to do?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Bites toward the rear are definite breeding signs. I agree that the smaller is too young to breed with any kind of success yet. A breeding attempt by an aggressive male can be very stressful for a young female. Seperating them was the right thing to do. Keep her a little darker if possible. She may take a day or two to come back on food.
I'm having to seperate out my male motoro (have one male, three females) because of the same issue. I'll have his set up done by this weekend.

It should heal fine. Like David said, just use salt to prevent fungal growth on the affected area. They heal quick.

How long should i keep them seperated? they had no problems for the 8 months before now. thanks for all the help

Sorry to say that she passed away yesterday when i got home , in the morning she was doing fine and her wounds were healing up well. She didnt show any sign of being in any pain, she moved around like normal. Got home thought she was sitting there, after a few more glance noticed she wasnt moving :( I dont know what else i could have done. I want to get another ray, but im really hesitant now. The male looks so lonely now.

got pics... dont worry...all of us ray keepers lost a ray when we just started..

can you get pics ?
