Hey i was on here posting about my piranahs. i thought two of them had paried up. well about 10 min ago two of my ps ganged up on one and took off his top fin and a little flesh. one of the piranahs are really dark so im gussing that its the male and its trying to get the female to breed and hes being territorial towards his nest. what do you guys think? ill post a pic in a sec.

the damage won't kill it if it doesn't get any infection but if other two are being aggressive towards it all the time it will be better to take it out and put into a separate tank.
if leave alone unstressed by other p's it should heal up in couple weeks. just set temp to 82F and add aquarium salt (think is 1 Tsp per 10g of water, double check on that yourself)

thanks i put him in a 20 gallon tank that i use to feed my beardie with. so i had to spend like 30 min cleaning out. i have had him in the tank for about 2 hours now and he isnt swimming sround the tank but he is moving his fins and moving a little. i added some salt and that seemed to help.

is this tank cycled?

well i didint cycle it but i took all the water out of the main tank and put it in this one. he is doing really well and is acting like normal.

I would have just left him in the main tank, things will be more difficult for it when you re introduce it to the shoal.

Also if you can take some media from an already established filter and add it to the filter in your hospital tank, monitor the ammo levels and do small waterchanges to controll any ammo spikes if they occur
