Help Ropefish!!!!!

I went in my room tonight after being gone the whole night, and looked in my 38 g tank, I have a ropefish, angelfish, bgk, small african lungfish and leaf fish and the rope fish had a spot halfway down it's tail that looked almost dead. It was gray and just one patch, it looked like it was shedding but I know they don't!!! Any Ideas?!?!

Try to take a pic of it, hard to tell what it might be. What are you water parameters?

Im not exactly sure what it is but a had a rope show similar symptoms on the last inch of its tail. Now for the bad news, it was dead the next morning. GL

A water change and a little salt would help alittle until u can identify the correct symtoms and meds to give

I believe the rope might have slime disease, so I did a 2 minute saltwater dip and he looks stressed... Everybody cross your fingers...

I hate to tell you, but Ropefish are notorious for dying of a mysterious ailment similiar to what you are describing. Last time I read up about it there was still no cure and not even a very good diagnosis.
