Help! RTC losing skin

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Don't flame me, I realize how bad the situation is and I have never let it get this bad before. Sadly, (and long story short) I have not been keeping up. This is definately a wake up call.

Anyway...

I have added salt and did that 50% wc. I will do another 50% tomorrow and 25% the following days.

I have a similar problem PLEASE if anyone can help me???

I have a panchax killi that seemed to be losing? or having skin rubbed off the top of its head. Recently it has been hiding and NOT EATING. I have separated him and purchased a new tank (20 gallon) where I want to place him alone. He is in medicated water right now (the water is greenish from this antifungal powder that is to be mixed in). He still seems to have good motor skills as he will quickly dart away from me when i was trying to take the picture. Its kind of depressing as i do weekly water changes and all my other fish are fine (including the female killi that was with him). So far I CANNOT FOR THE LIFE OF ME IDENTIFY HIS ILLNESS.......at first glance it looked like a lesion from fighting but he is actually the most active fish in the tank, a few mollys. i do weekly water changes and check the parameters weekly ( i work in a lab and use ion chromatography to determine ammonium, nitrate, nitrite levels which all 0 with nitrates at most ever .5 ppm.) here is a piccture. PLEASE PLEASE if anyone knows what this is I really appreciate it. AND HOW TO TREAT IT. =(

do you know what it is? i actually treat with aquarium salt as recommended with every water change......I did a 50% water change on tuesday and it hasnt improved (im afraid to say it might of even gotten worse, I CAN SEE HIS BRAIN!). i would feel better if i could at least know that others have experienced this and improved the situation. damn it
