Help Setting up "Unique" Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Looks to me like it was a drop off salt water tank at one time maybe? I would be concerned with the water in the drop off section colectin detritus which a simple power head will help with that. Hystrix or mini marble come to mind for a 28 inch tank

Definitely a neat tank but like it was stated before, not a good tank for rays really. It would be one thing if it was a gradual slope to a deeper area, but to have a straight drop off you are going to run into problems imo. Good luck with whatever you decide to do.

No! I want to get 2 rays again

since we can tell you are going to get rays no matter what advice is given, like everyone says this really is not a good set up for rays. 1 ray would be pushing it but 2 rays i would not do.. that tank is a salt water tank, you are going to all sorts of problems with that drop off. anyways im not here to bash you, i wish you luck cause you are going to need it.

PS im sorry i know i said no bashing but i know plenty of people are thinking it so i just have to:
65 gal tank,,, after 3 years your rays died for no reason?? that sized tank alone is the reason,, no way one
canister filter could keep that water good enough for a ray,, im sorry but your ray died from stress/water conditions. i am truly suprised they lived that long

You could also look at an eel it in the depths and some nice barbs or other larger schooling fish filling the top.
