Help Sex a texas cichlid?

my camera stinks and only works intermittently but here's a decent shot of my biggest green texas. Roughly 6" total length

That's super cool. Maybe one day I will have a tank that big.
With your experience do you think that texas cichlids will act like red devils, because that's what I read online, but wasn't sure if it was true.

All depends on the individual and tank set up etc. Nothing beats the amphilophus for interaction for me so far. I do also love my Oscars.

Ok, that's cool
I was sold on the fact that they get big, look cool, and some grow teeth.
I was told that they do get some personality, and it seems mine is showing it at 2 inches, but do you think it's personality could get better as it gets bigger and more confident?

Is it solo in the tank now? What size is it again?

It is in with a geophagus for right now, but that will change soon.
It's about 2 inches right now

I meant the tank , I think geos do better in small groups. The Texas will likely start to batter the geo... nipped fins and the like. The geos I have left after my jaguar incident aren't aggressive at all but will not be pushed around.

Oh its in a 40 (I think it's called the "wide version"). And the geo is in there temporary, as I think I found it a new home.

Perfect size to grow it out in, I think solo will provide you with a more interactive fish. If it has nothing to pick on it'll be more likely to be interested in you I think and hope....
